Taiga Spirit – Lentiira Infirmary
Year-round bed and breakfast accommodation in a historic building
Taiga Spirit offers cosy year-round bed and breakfast accommodation in the historic former Lentiira Infirmary, a culturally significant wooden building in the village of Lentiira, Kuhmo.
The building, known as the Lentiira Infirmary, was commissioned by the Red Cross shortly before the outbreak of the Winter War. Construction was interrupted by the war and the building was finally completed in 1947. Healthcare services were provided here until 2006, after which Taiga Spirit became the owner of the property.
The light yellow building is located in the heart of Lentiira, close to the village’s cultural attractions, the Vartius border crossing, and the unique wilderness of Kainuu, including the nearby Iso-Palonen nature area.
A bus stop is located within walking distance and is served during the school term.
Guests can stay in two comfortable upstairs rooms, each featuring twin beds, a private bathroom with shower, and free Wi-Fi. Bed linen and towels are included, and guests have access to a shared kitchenette. Pets are welcome.
A newly built eco suite is equipped with a shower, a composting toilet, and a kitchenette. During the busiest seasons, additional apartments located approximately 200 metres from the main building are also available.
