Events

Kuhmo is home to the internationally renowned Kuhmo Chamber Music, the Sommelo folk music festival celebrating traditional Finnish runosong and poetry, and the Joutsentanssi dance festival, which draws inspiration from the surrounding natural environment to create contemporary dance.

Numerous events organised in cooperation with local communities and cultural organisations — including Römppä Week, Kuhmo Summer Musicians, Kuhmo Christmas, Kuhmo Culture Celebrates Winter, and Hilpeä heinäkuu — together with vibrant art and dance events, ensure there is something to experience throughout the year.
