Life in the bearlands

Let a local guide take you to visit her house in the middle of an area where bears and many other wild animals are roaming! The house is located 25 km away from the city center of Kuhmo, where you can observe animals tracks, signs of the ice age and in the summer time berries and mushrooms. We will have a small walk in the area, about 4 kilometers.
The guide will tell you more about the local lifestyle and that connects traditions with modern tecnology. perhaps you will learn, why Finish people are the happies in the world!

Note! the owner of the house has a cat, so this tour is not suitable for allergic people.

The Guardian recommends heading to Kuhmo for a paddling adventure. Rent a canoe and explore the beautiful Harakkasaari Island with its sandy shores, located just off Kalevalankangas – at your own pace.
