Events

Kuhmo is home to the internationally renowned Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, the Sommelo Music Festival, presenting folk music including the traditional Finnish Runosong and poetry, and the Joutsentanssi — Kuhmo Dance Festival, which draws from the natural environment to create contemporary dance. Numerous individual events co-organised in cooperation with local players, including Römppä Week, Kuhmo Summer Musicians, Kuhmo Christmas, Kuhmo Culture Celebrates Winter, Jolly July, as well as vibrant art and dance celebrations, ensure there is entertainment all year round.
