Lakeside Path Rantaraitti

Until 1937, Kuhmo was known as Kuhmoniemi. The municipality of Kuhmo was granted the status of a town on 1st January 1986. 

Kuhmon rantaraitti (The Lakeside Path of Kuhmo) is an about 2 km long walking trail along the shores of Lake Lammasjärvi and the Pajakkajoki River, leading from the Hankaniemi Cape to the Pajakkakoski Rapids. Along the route, there are eight information boards presenting facts about the history of Kuhmo. The link buttons below will take you to the website with the texts of the boards in English.
