Kalevalankangas holiday village

Lammasjärvi shoreline, on the beautiful Kalevalankangas area, will be the site of a new holiday village suitable for international tourism sales. According to the plans, the area will consist of 30 plots designated for cabins, four plots suitable for row house complexes, and a central plot where a multifunctional main building will be located to serve purposes such as reception, equipment rental, and restaurant services. The main building will also house the civil protection shelter for the holiday village.

The cabin plots range in size from 420 to 628 m², with building rights varying between 80 and 130 floor square meters depending on the plot. The rental prices of the plots consist of land rent, which varies between 1.2 and 2 €/m²/year depending on the plot, and investment costs, which include the construction costs of roads, water supply network, and civil protection buildings.

The building plots in the holiday village are intended exclusively for tourism purposes, not for privately used cabins. The City of Kuhmo supports the development of the holiday village by creating infrastructure such as roads and a new district heating connection.

A building guideline has been prepared for the holiday village structures, and it is available from the technical department of the City of Kuhmo.

Metsähallitus is looking for a buyer for its properties located in the Kalevalankangas area. The properties include Petola, which has served as a nature center, the Friendship Park research center, the accommodation facilities of the research center, and Metsähallitus office spaces. All buildings are located within the same yard area by the lake, along Lentiirantie.

The premises are particularly suitable for exhibition, commercial, and office use. One of the buildings also includes ready-made accommodation facilities.
