Saari-Kiekki
Saari-Kiekki
Fishing destination in the Elimyssalo Nature Reserve
Overview
Saari-Kiekki, located within the Elimyssalo Nature Reserve, is an excellent destination for pike and perch fishing. Spinning is the most effective method, and waterproof footwear is recommended due to the wet terrain.
Because the area receives very little fishing pressure, anglers have a good chance of catching impressive-sized fish. Fishing is mainly done from the shoreline, but float tubes, packrafts and kayaks can also be used. There are no boats available and no marked fishing routes. An overnight stay is possible at the lean-to shelter.
The nearby Levälampi Pond, surrounded by open mire, is another productive spot for pike and perch. Extreme caution is required when moving across the bog and along the shoreline, and visitors should also be aware that the area is home to large wildlife, including predators.
Fishing permits
- Finnish fisheries management fee (required when fishing with one rod)
- Ice fishing and simple hook-and-line fishing are free of charge
Fishing regulations
- No catch restrictions apply to lake fish species.
