Siltakoski Teljo

Introduction

The lowest rapid of the Jongunjoki River on the Kuhmo side is located near the village of Teljo, starting from Lake Raatelampi. It is part of the Jongunjoki canoeing route. This is a narrow, gently flowing fly fishing destination. The shores are rocky and have some vegetation. There is no need for wading at this spot, so waterproof shoes are sufficient.

Target fish species include perch, pike, and grayling. Trout have also been stocked in the river. It is an excellent location for small fly and dry fly fishing. On the other side of the bridge, there is a pool worth trying with a spinning rod.

The spot is easily accessible and relatively easy to fish. You start from the parking lot next to the bridge. There is no marked trail. Fishing can begin right from the parking lot and is recommended all the way up to Lake Raatelampi. The place is also suitable for overnight trips, as it offers the necessary facilities for camping and staying with a camper van.
