Hanhilampi Shelter

Destination Presentation

The Hanhilampi shelter is a scenically beautiful hiking destination, ideal for fishing trips. It is especially well-suited for families with children and short fishing excursions, as it is easily accessible along the ridge between Kirveslampi and Ylimmäinen alanne. There is a campfire spot located between Ylimmäinen alanne and Hanhilampi.

This trail is part of the Jämäsvaaran hiking route, which offers many other natural sights and good fishing spots. The main fish species include pike, perch, and roach.

Fishing at this site is best done with a spinning rod or traditional worm fishing rod. You will need to pay the state fisheries management fee. Note that worm fishing and ice fishing do not require this fee. There are no catch limits for lake fish.
