Saunajärvi Holiday Cabins

The rental cabins are located in Kainuu, 40 km southeast of Kuhmo town center, in the village of Saunajärvi, along the 8 km long Lake Saunajärvi—surrounded by pristine and authentic wilderness.

The cabins cater to nature-loving guests who enjoy all that Saunajärvi has to offer in many ways.

The scenery and peaceful environment provide the perfect setting for a successful holiday. The surrounding area offers excellent fishing waters, hunting grounds, berry-picking terrain, and in winter, direct access to snowmobiling trails from the cabins. You can also explore nearby restored structures and memorials from the Winter War. Accommodation services are also available for companies.

Activities include lake and river fishing, hunting, hiking, berry picking, skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and simply relaxing. From the cabins, you can access the Kilpelänkangas hiking trail, and winter often lasts until the end of April—allowing skiing right from the cabin doorstep. No groomed trails are needed when the snow crust is firm enough to support skiers.

Cabin options:

• Kalliohonka: Accommodates 6 people, located just 15 meters from the lake.

• Kähkölänranta: Near the main building and lakeside, with beds for 8 people.

• Honkapirtti: Spacious enough for up to 9 people, situated 25 meters from the lake.
